Welcome to
the Guyton Homestead founded in the European tradition of co-housing.
It has both privacy and social contact. The four apartments contain
all the features of a conventional apartment; full kitchens, private
baths, bedrooms, living space, personal temperature controls; but residents
also share common areas such as a formal dining room/meeting room, laundry
facilities, a fully equipped play room, and a craft/work room. |
| The
spacious yard (which is another common area) contains three gardens:
an herb garden, a flower garden, and the Serenity garden. The Serenity
garden will contain a style of a Japanese Tea House (under construction),
the tea house is tucked back in a wooded area. It will also serve various
uses of the residents. |
| The Guyton Homestead addresses
the question of parking and pets. A private off-street parking space for
each apartment is provided. Pets are an important part of most peoples
lives. Therefore, well behaved pets are more then welcome at the Guyton
Homestead. A common dog run for doing their business and a large fenced
yard for running is provided.There will be formal gatherings in the formal
dinning room, weekly dinners and formal meetings, various celebrations
(birthdays, holidays), Barbeques in the back yard. There will be outings
with various residents such as movies, plays, sporting events and much
more. All common areas are for residents use, and for the individual resident's
invited guests.The Guyton Homestead is cradled in a safe, intergenerational,
diverse college town atmosphere. It has lots of neighborhood support and
interaction. The community encourages residents to have a garden plot
